The Tropical Island

Day 1   Arrive at Port Louis Airport.  Transfer to hotel in Mauritius for overnight stay on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 2   Day at leisure or choose one of the full day tours;  Domaine Les Pailles tour or Ile Aux Cerfs tour

Experience the old Mauritian lifestyle in four wheeled carriages waiting at the gates of the Domaine.  See the reconstitution of what was formerly the setting of the first settlers.  Ascend the hills, belting this forgotten valley in a Land Rover, amongst deers, monkeys and a variety of birds.  After lunch, enjoy a leisurely walk from the sugar mill to the rum distillery through the garden of species, or admire the horses at the Equestrian Centre.

Travel to the East by coach to the Meeting point “Pointe Maurice” jetty. Embark and proceed across the scenic lagoon towards Ile aux Cerfs.  The white sandy beaches and the emerald lagoon will fascinate you.  The fully equipped boathouse and small bars on the waterfront will be at disposal. 
The uninhabited island is an idyllic hide-away yet it has every facility: beach-bars, restaurants, numerous water sport facilities,  deserted coves for sun bathing and skinny-dipping.  Transfer to hotel in Mauritius for overnight stay on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 3   Full day at leisure to relax on the beach and swim.  Overnight stay at hotel on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 4   Day at leisure or take a full day Curepipe and the beautiful South Tour. 
Visit the ‘Trou aux Cerfs’, an extinct volcanic crater, situated in the vicinity of Curepipe; here there is an excellent panoramic view over a large part of the island.  While visiting one of the best model ship factories, admire the meticulously hand-made reproductions of a variety of historically famous vessels.  Stop briefly in the town centre of Curepipe for shopping. 

Proceed to the southeast direction to the Grand Basin, a sacred lake for the Hindu community, permanently watched over by the Brahman priests.  During a stop at Plaine Champagne, admire the Black River Gorges, an ideal sanctuary for the fauna and flora of the island.  After lunch, drive to the village of Chamarel, famous for its coffee plantation, waterfall and its coloured earth.  Transfer to hotel in Mauritius for overnight stay on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 5 – Day 6   Days at leisure to relax on the beach and swim.  Overnight stay at hotel on dinner, bed and breakfast basis. 

Day 7   Transfer to Port Louis Airport for onward flight.
